Dumpster rental for roofing tear-offs

Tear-off day only works when the container is sitting under the eaves before the first shingle comes down. We place the box tight to the house, board the driveway, and time pickup so the can is gone before the final walkthrough.

Which size fits

Shingles are heavy, not bulky. Up to about 20 squares of asphalt tear-off fits a 12 yard with its 1 ton included; 20 to 40 squares steps up to the 20 yard with 2 tons included. Going bigger than the debris needs just wastes driveway space on a roofing job.

What goes in

  • Asphalt shingles, felt, and flashing
  • Cedar shake and wood decking
  • Gutters, drip edge, and rotted fascia
  • Underlayment and ice-and-water shield

The short prohibited list (paints, chemicals, hazardous material) is on the FAQ page. Heavy material like concrete, brick, and dirt is welcome with a quick call first, so we can confirm weight and pricing before your card is ever charged.

“Great prices and friendly staff. Process was made very easy and they are very flexible if you need to change the pick up date. I had to change pick up date 3 times and they were very understanding. I will definitely use them again if I ever need a dumpster service in the future and recommend them to anyone.”

Common questions

What size dumpster do I need for a roof tear-off?

Figure roughly one square (100 sq ft) of asphalt shingles per quarter yard. Up to about 20 squares fits our 12 yard ($399, 1 ton included); 20 to 40 squares calls for the 20 yard ($599, 2 tons included). Layers matter: a two-layer tear-off doubles the debris.

How heavy is shingle debris?

One square of architectural shingles weighs 250 to 400 lbs. A 25-square single-layer tear-off runs 3 to 5 tons, so tonnage, not volume, usually picks the container. Overage past the included tonnage bills at $160 per ton after weigh-in.

Can the dumpster sit close to the house?

Yes. Crews want the box under the roof edge so debris goes straight in. We place tight to the structure where the driveway allows, and we board the surface so the container never touches your pavement.
