Dumpster rental in Madison, CT

Flat-rate roll-off dumpsters delivered to Madison from our yard in Milford, about 30 miles and 43 minutes away by road. Usually within 24-48 hours; same-day is often possible when you call before noon.

A local truck, not a broker

Madison is the eastern end of our shoreline run. Beach-house renovations and tear-offs dominate the bookings here, and shoreline lots reward exact placement; mark the spot in your booking notes and the driver sets it there, boards underneath if you ask.

Neighborhoods we work regularly: Madison Center, East Wharf, North Madison, and everywhere in between.

The houses in Madison, and what they mean for your dumpster

Madison has about 7,900 homes, and the typical one was built around 1976. The mix runs from 12% built before 1940 to 13% built since 2000, with the biggest share from the 1960s through the 1980s. 92% are single-family detached houses, so nearly every job here has its own driveway to work with. 90% of households own their home.

  • Bulky, not heavy. Newer houses mean drywall, cabinets, carpet, and flooring. Those fill space long before they hit the weight allowance, so if you are between sizes, go up one for the room.
  • Check for asbestos first. About 57% of Madison homes were built before 1980, when asbestos still turned up in floor tile, pipe insulation, and some siding and roofing. Asbestos cannot go in any dumpster: have suspect material tested, and removed by a licensed abatement contractor, before demolition starts.
  • Cleanouts. The median home here has 7.6 rooms, big by Connecticut standards. A full cleanout usually means a 30 yard, sometimes with a scheduled swap for a second one; book the swap early rather than overfilling.

Housing figures: U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2020-2024.

Know before you book in Madison

From our yard
Madison is about 30 miles and 43 minutes from 81 Munson Street by road, which is why it sits on our regular routes.
Paint and chemicals
Madison residents and property owners drop off free at HazWaste Central, 90 Sargent Drive in New Haven, on Saturday mornings from late May to mid-October with pre-registration, and the program sometimes holds a satellite day at the Madison Public Works yard on Fort Path Road. Commercial haulers do not take hazardous waste, and none of it can go in our dumpster.

What is different about Madison placements

  • Smith Bay, south of Neck Road between Pleasant View Avenue and Shorelands Drive, is a set of narrow private finger roads, densely built and very low near the water. On a private road, check that the association is fine with a delivery and that the truck has room to turn and back in.
  • Circle Beach is about 20 homes on a narrow, low sand spit at the mouth of the East River, and Green Hill Road is a dead end serving five homes. Where the truck has little room to maneuver, text us photos of the driveway when you book.
  • Shoreline lots around West Wharf and Crescent Beach are tight, while lots north of I-95 get larger and North Madison is mostly open space with scattered subdivisions. Container size and placement change a lot from one end of town to the other.
  • Madison’s single-family homes have climbed in value fast, and the town saw an influx of seasonal and weekend owners during and after COVID. New owners often clean out or renovate right after closing, which is one of the most common reasons we deliver here.

Storms, floods, and cleanups in Madison

  • Green Hill Place, Garnet Park, Circle Beach Drive, Smith Bay, and Fence Creek flood on the highest tides and can cut off access to homes. We book deliveries and pickups there around the tide chart.
  • Madison has seen a lot of shoreline redevelopment, with homes rebuilt to FEMA flood standards and some moved out of the flood zone. Teardowns and rebuilds produce heavy mixed debris, so plan by weight as well as volume.

What Madison curbside pickup will not take

  • Madison has no town trash pickup at all: residents hire commercial haulers or handle their own. With no town bulk program to fall back on, a roll-off is the simplest way through a cleanout or a project.

Timing your Madison rental

  • From November 1 to April 1, Madison bans on-street parking on every road from midnight to 7 AM, and whenever plows are out, with ticketing and towing. Keep winter containers and cars on the driveway.
  • Public Works plows about 130 miles of town road, and the curb-to-curb cleanup can come hours or a day after the snow stops. After a big storm, swaps and pickups wait until the plows have widened the roads.
  • Summer brings beach traffic, the July 4 parade on Route 1, and tighter parking enforcement near East and West Wharf. For shoreline drops in July and August, book early in the week.
